This follows a public dispute where Sacco claimed she was fired and replaced by ChatGPT, a narrative Karch initially disputed with aggressive public commentary.
The tension began after the game’s announcement trailer. Sacco stated that her role was eliminated in favor of AI tools, while Karch responded with dismissive remarks on social media. The incident drew significant criticism across the industry, especially after Karch claimed he had never spoken to the writer or seen her work.
Saber Interactive has since updated the game's Steam page to acknowledge the use of generative AI for voiceovers, music, and certain dialogue. The company had previously come under fire for failing to disclose these features to players.
Sacco confirmed the receipt of the apology, noting that Karch reached out directly to address his past statements. While she has accepted the apology, she has not commented on any further professional resolutions between herself and the studio.
