D-Wave and Nasdaq Verafin have launched a new collaboration to test quantum computing for financial crime prevention. This proof-of-concept project focuses on identifying complex patterns in transaction activity and counterparty networks that traditional computing methods often miss.
The partnership aims to develop predictive models capable of detecting fraud, scams, and money laundering risks. By using D-Wave’s annealing technology, the teams will analyze massive sets of data signals to build more effective defense systems for the financial sector.
Dr. Alan Baratz, CEO of D-Wave, noted that this initiative provides a clear path to apply quantum-hybrid systems to real-world financial problems. The project marks a significant step in integrating quantum tools into standard machine learning workflows for institutional security.
