Multiverse Computing targeting €500m round at unicorn valuation
Multiverse Computing, the Spanish tech company specializing in AI efficiency tools, is moving toward a significant financial milestone. The company is currently raising a €500m Series C round, which would bring its post-money valuation to €2bn. This effort stands as one of the largest capital raises for a private firm based in Spain.
The investment round features a mix of international backers, including Forgepoint Capital, Bullhound Capital, and BNP Paribas’s Solar Impulse Venture Fund. Additional commitments come from the European Innovation Council, the Qatar Development Bank, and corporate arms from entities like HP Inc and Orange. This influx of capital brings the company's total funding past the €700m mark.
At the core of the business is a technology called CompactifAI. This software uses methods rooted in quantum physics to compress large language models. The company claims these compressed models can run on local hardware, such as smartphones, factory equipment, or satellites, without needing massive cloud infrastructure. By reducing the footprint of these models by up to 95%, the firm allows companies to run high-performance AI on smaller, sovereign data centers or edge devices.
With over 100 customers already onboard, including major names like Bosch, Telefónica, and Allianz, the company is scaling its operations rapidly. Leadership expects annual recurring revenues to reach €200m by 2026. This new funding will support further research and development, the expansion of their model library, and a broader push into markets across Asia and North America.
