For the 46 mm model, typical use lasts up to 7 days, with that duration dropping when the always-on display is enabled. Light usage for the same model can extend battery life up to 11 days. Huawei designed these hardware options to accommodate diverse wrist sizes and user needs.

Health Monitoring and X-TAP Technology

A core feature of the Watch 6 Pro is the X-TAP system. This component uses a 12-channel PPG sensor paired with a dedicated pressure sensor. Huawei claims this setup doubles the responsiveness of health data collection compared to previous models. Users can trigger a Health Glance by pressing and holding the X-TAP sensor for 3 seconds. The resulting scan provides a snapshot of up to 14 health metrics within 60 seconds.

The device includes studies on coronary heart disease, diabetes risk, and hypertension risk. These analytical tools aim to identify subtle body changes early. Beyond these specific tests, the watch tracks daily wellness through a feature called Healthy Living. This module logs activity, sleep, and nutrition, displaying progress through a visual interface that fills as users meet daily goals.

Connectivity and Specialized Activity Modes

The Watch 6 Pro supports eSIM cellular connectivity, allowing users to make calls, navigate, and process payments without needing a smartphone nearby. The device provides broad compatibility with both iOS and Android operating systems. An added function called Safety Check allows users to share their real-time location and physical status with emergency contacts, which is intended for users traveling alone or participating in remote outdoor sports.

Fitness features include specific modes for golf, snow sports, freediving, and cycling. The newly added Expedition mode provides tools such as waypoint navigation and smart backtracking to assist users in wilderness environments. An integrated AI-powered workout analysis reviews past performance data to provide suggestions on whether to increase intensity or schedule recovery days. The interface also supports gesture controls, enabling users to silence calls or navigate menus through wrist movements.
