The watch runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 processor. This chip choice provides the device with better app compatibility and smoother integration with Android smartphones than previous custom-OS models from the company. Users gain access to Google Wallet for NFC payments, alongside support for Gemini and Motorola’s own Qira AI assistant.

The hardware design features a stainless steel casing measuring 46mm in diameter. It is 12mm thick and weighs 51g. A 1.5-inch OLED screen sits behind Gorilla Glass 3, with slim bezels that allow for a larger display surface than earlier versions. Battery and Fitness Limitations

Battery life is a primary drawback compared to its predecessors. While the earlier Moto Watch offered up to 13 days of use, the Ultra model is rated for only 50 hours with the always-on display turned off. This reflects the power demands of running Wear OS on the current hardware architecture.

Fitness features rely on a partnership with Polar to track heart rate, sleep, stress, and SpO2 levels. It includes dual-band GPS and LTE connectivity, along with an AI-driven coaching tool. However, the device lacks the specific ruggedization and advanced survival metrics typically associated with the 'Ultra' branding in the current market. It is more comparable to standard smartwatches from major manufacturers.

The Moto Watch Ultra is priced at $349.99, placing it significantly below the high-end competition while remaining more expensive than entry-level wearables. Availability begins on September 10, 2026. The shift to Wear OS signals that Motorola is betting on software ecosystem integration to gain ground in the crowded smartwatch sector.
