Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9: Your Health Companion on the Wrist

Samsung Electronics announced the release of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, marking a shift toward more proactive health monitoring. These devices integrate the Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform to improve speed and efficiency, supporting longer battery life and brighter display capabilities for 24/7 wearability.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 targets outdoor enthusiasts and high-performance users. It features an 800 mAh battery and a 5,000-nit display. Key additions include specialized tracking for trail running and professional-grade diving capabilities, developed in partnership with Mares. The device uses a titanium casing and is rated IP69K and 10 ATM for durability in harsh conditions.

The Galaxy Watch9 serves as an everyday health companion. It includes an aluminum casing designed for comfort, a 390 mAh battery, and a 3,000-nit display. Both models rely on the BioActive sensor to capture biometric data, which the company processes through AI algorithms to provide users with health insights, including sleep apnea detection and cardiovascular metrics.

Samsung expanded its software offerings with the Watch9 and Ultra2, adding tools like the Vitals monitor and Daily Cardio Load for training optimization. The company also provides custom band collections, such as the Marine, PeakForm, and Trail bands, to suit specific environmental needs and personal preferences. Users can access warranty information and diagnostics directly through the One UI 9 Watch interface on their connected smartphones.

Pre-orders for both models begin on July 22, with a broader market release scheduled for August 7. The lineup includes trial subscriptions for fitness services such as Strava and iFIT to encourage early platform adoption.
