The Hurley Town Board recently hosted Archtop Fiber to address significant delays in the town’s high-speed internet rollout. During the meeting, Archtop Chief Development Officer Shaw Beqaj identified the bottleneck as the pole attachment review process.
Archtop expected a permit cycle of approximately 115 days based on their contractual agreements. However, the current timeline for securing approval from Central Hudson to use existing utility poles is exceeding these original estimates. This disconnect between expected and actual approval times is the primary factor behind the slow progress.
Local officials are now monitoring the situation as residents await improved digital access. The board continues to work with private partners to move the infrastructure project forward in a timely manner.
