Verizon FiOS internet service is back online for residents and businesses in Gloucester County, New Jersey. The connection was restored at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday after a dayslong outage disrupted daily operations in the region.

A company spokesperson confirmed that the service interruption was caused when a third party accidentally cut a fiber line. Severe weather conditions in the area subsequently hampered repair efforts and delayed the timeline for restoration.

The outage forced several major retail locations in Deptford, including Macy's and Dick's Sporting Goods, to close their doors due to technical issues. With the fiber lines repaired and connectivity now confirmed, these businesses have returned to normal operating hours.

Verizon acknowledged the frustration experienced by local customers during the period of downtime. Local repair crews worked to address the infrastructure damage and re-establish the connection for the affected communities.
