The latest Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 update brings major changes for Pixel users who want more control over their device appearance. Google has expanded the Wallpaper and style settings to include a dedicated color slider. This allows for precise adjustments to your system theme colors. You are no longer restricted to predetermined palettes.
Beyond the color slider, the update adds four distinct style choices for every color option you select. You can cycle through Neutral, Soft, Bright, and Bold variations to see how each changes the visual presentation of your menus and icons. The system now saves your chosen wallpaper color on the far left side of the menu for quick access during future edits.
To find these tools, long-press on your home screen and select Wallpaper and style. From there, tap the Colors icon located above your current wallpaper colors to enter the new customization menu. This interface is now the primary location for managing your Material You setup.
This update is currently available to users enrolled in the Android Beta Program. While these features are active for testers now, they will reach all stable users when the official version releases in December 2026. These additions represent a shift toward giving users granular control over the look of their devices.
