Apple just released the fifth developer beta of iOS 27. This version introduces several updates as the software cycle nears completion. Changes extend to the Settings app, which now includes a Before Searching section. This area allows users to control the number of app suggestions during searches. The Settings app also displays the date of the most recent system update, a feature that provides better visibility into device maintenance.
Voice customization options for Siri AI, which were previously limited to American English, now include British English voices. These specific AI features remain restricted to devices with at least 12GB of RAM, such as the latest iPhone 17 models.
Other adjustments include a cleaner look for the Control Center, where cellular network labels like 5G or LTE are hidden when connected to Wi-Fi. Additionally, the screenshot annotation toolbar now shrinks and hovers when a user captures a screen. These updates continue the trend of refinement as the official release approaches.
