One of the primary additions is the use of intelligent models to extend photos for better wallpaper fit and the ability to reframe images after capture. Safari users will gain automated tab organization, where the browser groups open pages by topic. The Photos app also gains a dedicated slideshow creator and a star-rating system for better library management.
Communication and productivity receive updates as well. Messages now supports inline replies to non-Apple users, while the Phone app introduces Call Context to display relevant reservation information automatically when calling businesses. Natural language processing now powers the Reminders and Calendar apps, allowing for faster input of dates and tasks.
For power users, the Shortcuts app now allows for complex automation setup through simple descriptive prompts. The Home app gains the ability to summarize security camera footage, provided you have an iCloud+ storage subscription. Additionally, users can now adjust custom EQ settings for compatible AirPods, a long-requested feature.
Privacy remains a point of focus for these updates. Most AI-driven features, including the new Siri camera mode and Call Context, run entirely on the device. Apple is also adding transparent controls for features like the Liquid Glass UI, allowing users to adjust translucency to their preference. The update is currently available in public beta for those who want to test the new functionality before the official launch.
