New iOS 27 Public Beta 2 Brings More Updates Than Expected
Apple released the second public beta for iOS 27, and the update brings several functional and visual refinements for early adopters. This version focuses on cleaning up interface elements and squashing bugs found in the initial beta release.
The lock screen now features standardized white icons across both light and dark modes to provide a consistent aesthetic. Users will also notice a refined liquid glass animation on the volume rocker, which makes sound adjustments feel more responsive. Spotlight search received a fresh splash screen and a clearer microphone icon to improve visibility.
Audio management is easier thanks to a new adaptive mode slider added to the Control Center. This allows for quick toggling between noise cancellation and transparency modes for AirPods without digging through deeper menus. Apple also improved the accuracy of cellular signal strength indicators in the Control Center, correcting issues reported in the previous build.
Siri sees expanded inclusivity with new voice options, including South African, Irish, Indian, British, and Australian accents. The Health and Find My apps have also received minor formatting updates to improve navigation and accessibility.
Beyond these features, Apple addressed a persistent bug where notifications caused wallpaper glitches on the lock screen and home screen. These adjustments show a focus on system stability and interface polish as the development cycle continues. Developers and beta participants can test these changes now as the company moves toward the final release.
