Unlike the 15 Pro, which lacks active thermal management, the 18 Pro includes a vapor chamber to sustain high performance during intensive tasks. The Neural Engine has seen a total capacity jump to 32 cores, which provides the necessary overhead for running advanced AI models directly on the hardware.

Battery life metrics suggest the most tangible day-to-day improvement for the average user. The iPhone 18 Pro is rated for 36 hours of video playback, a 13-hour increase over the 15 Pro. Charging speeds also improve significantly; the new model reaches a 50 percent charge in 15 minutes when paired with a 60W adapter. While the 15 Pro served as a reliable professional tool, the 18 Pro offers clear gains in longevity and processing efficiency that justify the move for those on a three-year refresh cycle.
