Tecno has officially entered the ultra-slim smartphone market with its new Camon Slim 5G. The device measures just 6.39mm in thickness, placing it among the thinnest handsets currently available to consumers. The company positions this device as a blend of artistic expression and mobile utility, specifically highlighting its design-centric aesthetic.
Beyond its dimensions, the phone offers five distinct colorways. Three of these models draw explicit inspiration from historical art movements. The Neo Mondrian edition utilizes photochromic technology, shifting between white and grid-based color blocks depending on ambient lighting. Additional designs include a Van Gogh Blue, which features a pattern that appears to move, and a Matisse Black option. Tecno intends for these designs to move the device away from being purely a communication tool and toward a functional fashion accessory.

Photography remains a primary focus for the Camon series. The rear of the device houses a triple-lens system anchored by a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 700C main sensor. The sensor size is Type 1/1.56, offering a foundation for mobile imaging that is consistent with the mid-range performance targets of the Camon brand. Software support includes the AI LightMaster 2.0 suite, which targets image correction tasks such as shadow reduction and flare removal. The phone also introduces AI Snap Poster for automated product photo generation and Universal Tone technology, a feature Tecno promotes as a leading solution for accurate skin-tone reproduction across various environments. These tools suggest a strategy centered on simplifying the post-capture workflow for casual users.
Connectivity and Durability
To expand its ecosystem, Tecno is introducing a magnetic accessory dubbed the Mag Badge. This circular device includes a 1.73-inch AMOLED display and links to the smartphone via Bluetooth. It functions as a remote camera controller from distances of up to 10 meters and serves as a preview screen for selfies. The phone itself features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G processor.
Durability is often a compromise in slim handset designs, yet Tecno has included ratings for IP69K, IP69, IP68, and IP66. These specifications indicate high levels of resistance against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets, which is uncommon in this profile segment. While the release is imminent, the company has not yet published specific regional pricing or availability dates. Observers should look for further announcements as the company scales distribution in the coming weeks.
