Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies confirmed Sunday night that Benjamin Parker, a 36-year-old man identified as the suspect in a quintuple homicide, is dead. Authorities found Parker inside his vehicle in Enumclaw, Washington. Sheriff Caprice Massey stated that officials believe Parker died by suicide. The discovery follows a weekend of intensive investigation into a rural home near Forest Grove, Oregon, where five people were found dead.
Detective Shannon Wilde confirmed that investigators also found multiple deceased domesticated animals at the residence on Northwest Otis Lane. Dispatch audio from the scene captured firefighters reporting at least two deceased victims before retreating to allow law enforcement to secure the area.
Local authorities established a wide perimeter around the property, which is situated on a dead-end street off Hillside Road. The location is characterized by dense vegetation and hilly, forested terrain. Throughout the day on Saturday, a drone team, a mobile command unit from the Hillsboro Police Department, and various forensic experts arrived to document the scene. Residents in the immediate vicinity received a reverse 911 notification, which authorities rescinded later that day.

Sheriff Massey noted that in her 22 years of service, she has not encountered a scene of this complexity. The Washington County Major Crimes Team led the effort to process the site. They received support from several regional groups, including the Oregon State Police Crime Lab, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and the Washington County Digital Forensics Lab. The sheer scale of the operation required the use of specialized units such as the Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team and the Tactical Negotiations Team.
Detective Wilde addressed concerns regarding the delay in public information, noting that the agency prioritized the accuracy of their findings and the notification of family members. The investigation into the circumstances of the five deaths continues even with the suspect confirmed dead.
