BuyWander, a startup focused on the secondary market for returned and overstocked retail goods, has shifted its corporate headquarters from Spokane to the Seattle area. The company is now based in Kent, Washington, where it maintains a 45-person office. This move positions the firm closer to the dense e-commerce and retail infrastructure surrounding the Seattle hub as it scales operations across the country.

The business has seen rapid growth, with its total headcount reaching 325 employees. Much of this workforce is dedicated to the logistical aspects of the business, including inventory intake, sorting, and warehouse operations. BuyWander currently manages eight warehouses nationwide, with new service points recently opened in Denver and Chicago.

To support this transition, the leadership team has added four experienced executives. Key hires include a new chief operating officer with a background in inventory management and a vice president of data and AI who previously worked at Blue Nile and Microsoft. The company also brought on a senior director of warehouse technology with a long tenure at Amazon, specifically focusing on supply chain optimization and logistics systems.

Founded in 2023, BuyWander operates an auction-based platform for merchandise from major retailers like Amazon, Target, and Home Depot. Customers bid on items starting at one dollar and collect their purchases at local warehouses. This model provides an alternative to liquidation or disposal for returned stock. The company is backed by investors including Quiet Capital and Animal Capital as it continues its national expansion plan.
