Terra Industries has secured an additional 18 million dollars in funding to extend its seed round. This brings the Nigerian defense technology startup total capital raised to 51.7 million dollars within the current year. The company previously announced funding rounds of 11.7 million dollars in January and 22 million dollars in February.
Existing investors including 8VC and Nova Global backed both previous rounds and participated in this latest extension. The startup also gained two new backers with this move, Norleo Space Investments and individual investor Grant Gordon. The additional support from Silent Ventures, Belief Capital, and SV Angel further solidifies the investor lineup.
Terra Industries plans to scale operations beyond the African continent. The company intends to focus on manufacturing expansion and international growth through strategic partnerships while maintaining its core base in Nigeria. The founders, Nathan Nwachukwu and Maxwell Maduka, lead the firm as it moves into this next phase of development.
This funding activity follows a year of quick financial growth for the defense technology sector in the region. By maintaining consistent support from institutional investors, the startup prepares to enter new markets. Observers will monitor how this capital helps the company execute its global manufacturing plans.
