Gabe Angieri, the executive director of Arch Grants, is stepping down after a ten-year tenure with the St. Louis-based organization. Since taking on the leadership role in 2022, Angieri helped the nonprofit expand its impact on the regional startup ecosystem. During his time at the helm, the organization evolved beyond its original grant competition model to provide broader support for local entrepreneurs.

Reflecting on his time with the organization, Angieri highlights the strong community built among the founders as his primary achievement. Internal data shows the organization has contributed significantly to the region, with $20 million in grants leading to over 4,000 jobs, nearly $300 million in wages, and close to $1 billion in follow-on capital. Angieri notably established the Fellows Program to connect high-growth startups and nurture the next generation of business and civic leaders in St. Louis.

Board president Zundra Bryant noted that the organization is now entering a new stage of maturity. As part of this transition, the board will begin a national search for the organization's first chief executive officer. This shift reflects the expanded scope of their programming and the increased credibility they have achieved in the startup sector.

Angieri plans to stay on for the next several months to ensure a smooth transition before he pursues new professional opportunities. He intends to remain in the St. Louis area, citing his commitment to the region he has called home for over a decade. His focus remains on building strong teams and solving problems, as he prepares to move into a new chapter of his career outside of the nonprofit sector.
