The Ministry of Labour and Employment recently held a significant outreach programme in Chennai to distribute benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana. This initiative took place across multiple venues, including the Indian Bank Management Academy for Growth and Excellence at MRC Nagar and the Central Institute of Classical Tamil.
Events held at these locations brought together hundreds of stakeholders to mark the distribution of official employee letters. At the IMAGE venue alone, the gathering included 450 beneficiaries alongside 122 employers and various industry association representatives, totaling 750 participants.
State government officials were present to oversee the proceedings, reflecting the coordination between central schemes and regional implementation. K. Niraimathi, Joint Director of the Directorate of Safety and Health, and Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Labour Commissioner, were in attendance to represent the state administration.
This distribution event highlights the ongoing efforts to connect workers with government-supported employment schemes. By gathering employers and beneficiaries in one space, the programme aims to ensure that official benefits reach the intended recipients efficiently.
