The National Restaurant Association of India Bengaluru Chapter has entered a partnership with Mitti Café to open new career paths for persons with disabilities. This project aims to integrate diverse talent into the city’s restaurant workforce, ensuring that hospitality businesses build more accessible and equitable environments. By connecting member restaurants with trained candidates, the program promotes hiring practices that value professional capability over physical barriers.
This initiative took center stage during the chapter’s latest industry gathering. Leadership from both organizations highlighted that workplace inclusion serves as a pillar for long-term growth in the hospitality sector. By broadening the recruitment pool, restaurant owners can improve team morale and deliver better service experiences to their customers. This effort marks a change in how local eateries approach staffing and operational culture.
During the same event, the chapter hosted a mandatory session focused on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act. This training provided owners and operators with clear guidance on legal compliance and the maintenance of safe, professional spaces. Industry leaders emphasized that leadership accountability and internal policies are essential to protecting staff members and maintaining a high standard of conduct.
Sagar Daryani, President of the National Restaurant Association of India and CEO of Wow! Momo, noted that the industry depends on its people. He pointed out that providing equal participation opportunities for all individuals strengthens the entire workforce. Ananth Narayan, head of the Bengaluru Chapter, added that the collaboration creates a practical framework for restaurants to transition toward inclusive hiring as a standard practice rather than an exception.
The meeting also featured recognition for various industry members who have contributed to the local food scene. As the restaurant sector in Bengaluru changes, the focus remains on combining professional training with responsible business management to keep the industry competitive and equitable for years to come.
