The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego has named Brett Littman as its next director. This announcement follows a six-month search to find a replacement for Kathryn Kanjo, who left the position in January to oversee the UC Irvine Langson Orange County Museum of Art.
Littman brings a history of leadership within the arts sector. His previous roles include time as the executive director of the Drawing Center and as the director of the Noguchi Museum. Most recently, he served as the deputy director of MoMA PS1.
He will officially begin his new duties at the institution in October. His appointment marks a transition for the museum as it enters a new phase of leadership under his guidance.
