Scovill Sculpture Park in Decatur installs 5 new art pieces
Decatur is now home to five new art installations at Scovill Sculpture Park. This update represents the fourth time the park has added pieces, a project supported by local groups such as the Children's Museum of Illinois and the Decatur Area Arts Council.
Aly Delatte, director for the Decatur Park District Foundation, noted that the art is intended to prompt conversation among visitors. The sculptures serve as visual cues to spark curiosity, allowing people of all ages to interpret the work and think through the themes presented by the creators.
This installation is part of a larger plan for the grounds. Five additional pieces are already scheduled to arrive in 2027 to continue the rotation of public art in the space.
