Dr. Leonard Brock, a Rochester native and prominent leader in systems change, is returning home to celebrate the release of his new book, "NeighborHOOD Scholar: A Tapestry of Scholarship, Systems and Self-Actualization."

Dr. Brock is well known in the area for his involvement with ROC the Future and his persistent work with the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative. His book serves as a reflection on his personal growth, tracing his life from his early days in the Hanover Housing Projects to his current role as a national figure in advocacy.

To commemorate the launch, Dr. Brock is hosting a community tour today. He plans to visit the schools and neighborhoods that defined his early years. At 3 p.m., the tour stops at Exclusive Cuts Barber Lounge, where he will join other local leaders for a discussion on identity and mentorship. The day starts at 1 p.m. on William Warfield Drive, followed by a launch event at Night Cap Blues on Mill Street.

This tour is an opportunity for Dr. Brock to reconnect with the community that provided the foundation for his professional work. By revisiting these local landmarks, he aims to share lessons on the transition from survival to self-actualization.
