Grand Rapids bookstore Books & Mortar is reopening this September. The Cherry Street shop previously announced its closure last month after the former owner cited burnout.
Now, a new team is stepping in to keep the space open for local readers. Julie, Christine, and Will purchased the shop to maintain its role as a neighborhood hub for connection and discovery.
They stated that the shop serves as a place for neighbors to find new ideas and voices. The trio plans to preserve the spirit of the store while managing a sustainable business model for the years ahead.
An official date for the grand reopening remains forthcoming as the team prepares the space. Local residents can look forward to the return of this community landmark next month.
