Loretta Anderson opens The Nook and Kranny in Rigby on August 17. The shop, located at 127 W. Main St., combines a bookstore with a full-service bakery. Customers will find a selection of new and used books alongside coffee, muffins, homemade bread, and rotating seasonal sodas.
Anderson emphasizes that her store prioritizes a family-friendly environment. All literature available for purchase is selected to be smut-free. The space is designed to feel like a living room, encouraging patrons to sit, read, and chat. Manager Zoe Jensen notes the goal is to provide a local gathering spot for the community.
Beyond basic retail, the shop will host book clubs, author signings, and display work from local artists. Anderson currently manages a staff of nine. She expresses interest in scaling the business to Rexburg and Idaho Falls in the future.
Grand opening festivities begin at 7 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The team will hold multiple raffles throughout the day to celebrate the launch. The store maintains standard operating hours throughout the week with extended evening availability on Fridays and Saturdays.
