Art of Over the Garden Wall Receiving Extended Edition (Exclusive)
Fans of the animated series Over the Garden Wall have a reason to celebrate as autumn approaches. Dark Horse Comics is releasing Art of Over the Garden Wall: Expanded Edition to mark the tenth anniversary of the show's original art book. This release includes over thirty pages of new content not found in the initial publication, providing a deeper look at the series development.
The updated book features interviews with cast and crew, including Elijah Wood, Melanie Lynskey, and Collin Dean. It also covers material from the BOOM! Studios comic series and concept designs for Mondo’s collectible figures. The volume includes a new foreword by Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch and fresh cover art by art director Nick Cross.
Readers have two options for purchase when the book arrives on February 9, 2027. A standard hardcover edition will be available alongside a deluxe version that features foil treatment, gilded pages, and a ribbon bookmark. Both formats measure 10 by 11 inches and contain 208 pages.
Author Sean Edgar and art director Nick Cross are scheduled to appear at San Diego Comic-Con to promote the project. They will host a signing at the Dark Horse booth on July 25. Fans interested in attending should visit the booth early to secure a wristband for the event. Preorders for both versions are open now at major retailers and local comic shops.
