Celebrate the Star Wars 50th with the Original Trilogy Unabridged - Exclusive Reveal
San Diego Comic-Con 2026 brought a wave of announcements from the Lucasfilm Publishing panel this week. The event highlighted a new chapter for the Skywalker family with the reveal of Beth Revis’s adult novel, Star Wars: Twin Crossroads. In this story, Luke Skywalker begins training his twin sister, Leia, marking a pivotal moment in their journey.
The panel also detailed upcoming audio projects. For the first time, fans will be able to listen to the original trilogy novelizations as unabridged audiobooks, narrated by Marc Thompson, starting in February 2027. DK Publishing is also preparing a new title, Star Wars: A Celebration, to honor the franchise reaching its 50th anniversary.
Comic fans received updates on various graphic novel projects, including new perspectives from Mad Cave Studios, Papercutz, and Dark Horse Comics. George Mann’s The High Republic Adventures Pathfinders series remains a central focus, as the story continues to explore distant corners of the galaxy. Marvel Comics also revealed new cover art for future releases, including one-shots centered on iconic characters like Boba Fett.
Beyond the galaxy far, far away, the panel showcased an unexpected addition to the Marvel slate. A new five-issue limited series titled Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium will arrive in December 2026. This series, created by Jason Aaron and Aaron Kuder, takes place immediately following the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Finally, Ahmed Best was named the official ambassador for Star Wars Reads. This month-long initiative returns in October, with the goal of expanding book access for young readers across the country. These announcements reinforce the commitment to broadening the reach of the franchise through diverse formats and new creative voices.
