Aubrey Plaza and her partner, Christopher Abbott, have officially welcomed their first child. The pair were seen with their newborn in New York City this past Sunday, shortly after Abbott finished his final performance in the Broadway production of Death of a Salesman.

This news follows their initial pregnancy announcement from earlier this April. While the original reports estimated a fall arrival, the couple welcomed their baby about a month ahead of that schedule.

Plaza and Abbott have maintained a creative partnership alongside their personal relationship for several years. The two first crossed paths during the production of the 2020 film Black Bear and later reunited to star as romantic leads in the 2023 off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea. Their chemistry on stage gained recognition for the raw, unconventional dynamic they brought to their roles.

This new chapter comes for Plaza following a period of personal loss, as her husband, Jeff Baena, passed away in early 2025. Plaza has spoken previously about the process of navigating grief, describing it as a constant presence in her life. Now, the actress begins this stage of parenthood with Abbott as they balance their careers and family life.
