New York City Center has announced the cast for its upcoming Off-Broadway production of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. The revival runs from February 3 through February 14, 2027, as part of the Encores! season, which focuses on presenting semi-staged productions of notable musicals.

The casting features several familiar names from stage and screen. Ayo Edebiri is set to play the role of Snoopy. David Hyde Pierce, known for his long-standing career on television and his Tony-winning work on Broadway, will portray Charlie Brown. Danielle Brooks joins the production as Lucy.

Jin Ha will also join the cast as Linus. The production features direction by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton, known for his recent work on Oh, Mary!. The creative team includes choreography by Sunny Min-Sook Hitt and music direction by Meghann Zervoulis Bate, working with the original book, music, and lyrics by Clark Gesner.

This project marks a notable return to the theater for the principal cast members. Ayo Edebiri made her Broadway debut earlier this year in Proof, while Danielle Brooks is well-regarded for her stage presence, including her Tony-nominated performance in the 2015 revival of The Color Purple. David Hyde Pierce continues his consistent work on the stage, adding this performance to a list of credits that includes Hello, Dolly! and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.

The Encores! mission remains dedicated to reviving musicals that have historically been overlooked. By focusing on semi-staged versions, the company provides audiences with a specific look at the material without the requirements of a full-scale commercial production. This season aims to continue that tradition with this popular Peanuts adaptation.
