Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is currently receiving medical care following a mental health episode on a livestream. His family and team released statements confirming that his children, along with his sister and niece, were present in the home just minutes before he began harming himself on the video feed. They stated that the family fled the residence immediately to protect the children from witnessing the incident.
Officials from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home after receiving calls from fans who viewed the broadcast. Authorities have confirmed that Hilton was alone inside the property when they arrived, and they moved to de-escalate the situation. A TikTok spokesperson stated that their moderation system flagged the livestream within minutes, although a moderator error led to a delay in the actual removal of the content. The platform has since banned Hilton’s account.
In the aftermath of the event, Hilton’s representatives from Golden Artists Entertainment noted they have not been able to make direct contact with him. They emphasized that their focus remains on his health and the privacy of his family. His long-time podcast co-host, Chris Booker, also indicated that future episodes are on hold while they prioritize Hilton's recovery.
This incident follows a difficult year for Hilton. Earlier in 2026, he shared that he was hospitalized for three weeks due to sepsis resulting from a perforated ulcer. He previously spoke about finding faith and expressing regret for the negative nature of his past career as a gossip blogger, specifically acknowledging that he hurt many individuals during his years in the spotlight. His family is now asking for media and paparazzi to respect their privacy as they help the children heal.
