O’Brien attended the Obama Presidential Center opening in Chicago on June 18. He spent hours outdoors and applied sunscreen to his face, but he failed to adequately protect his scalp. The sun exposure led to a severe burn that left his scalp itchy and peeling. The situation reached a point where he needed to treat the skin to avoid irritation and flaking.

Following advice to keep the area moisturized, O’Brien began applying oil to his scalp.
