The producers of the Broadway musical Hadestown have confirmed that actor Geno Segers will no longer join the production. This decision follows the discovery of past online videos and comments shared by the actor, which circulated on theater blogs shortly after his casting was announced.

Reports indicate that the resurfaced content included remarks characterized as anti-transgender and critical of pronoun usage, as well as statements opposing the participation of trans athletes in women’s sports. The production team and the actor reached a mutual agreement to end their professional arrangement immediately.

Segers, known for his roles in series such as Banshee and Yellowstone, has since set his social media accounts to private and removed videos from his personal channel. The show, which continues its run, has not yet named a replacement for the central role of Hades.

This development highlights the ongoing tension between personal expression and professional expectations within the performing arts. As of now, the production is searching for a new actor to fill the vacancy, with further details expected soon.
