Investors recently filed a lawsuit in federal court in Delaware, alleging that the company failed to meet operational obligations. The plaintiffs claim they invested nearly $1.2 million based on promises that Gomez would play an active role as head of marketing. They argue that the business did not deliver on these expectations.
Legal representatives for the actor and singer have publicly rejected these claims. Her lawyer, Mathew S. Rosengart, characterized the allegations of fraud as entirely meritless on both factual and legal grounds. The legal team is now preparing a motion to dismiss the case, asserting that the accusations are false.
This dispute follows earlier reports regarding financial difficulties at the company. In May of last year, reports indicated that Gomez had stepped in to provide additional personal funding after learning that employees had not been paid. Her team maintains that she is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the business and continues to support the mission of the brand.
The lawsuit also names Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefey, as a defendant. Another co-founder, Daniella Pierson, has denied the allegations against her in a statement. The investors involved in the suit claim they were unaware of the company's financial state until news coverage highlighted the situation in September 2025. They are now seeking to recover their initial investments and associated legal fees.
