The London production of Sunday in the Park with George is moving forward as scheduled for its summer 2027 premiere at the Barbican. Producers confirmed the show will go on despite the recent news that Ariana Grande has exited the project.

Grande was set to star as Dot and Marie alongside Jonathan Bailey who will play painter George Seurat. The production team stated they fully support the actress in her decision to step back from public visibility following the conclusion of her current tour.

Empire Street Productions remains committed to the original timeline for the revival. Auditions for the ensemble cast have been active throughout the summer in London. Additional casting updates will follow in the coming months as the production continues its preparation for the opening.

The show is under the direction of Marianne Elliot with set design by Tom Scutt. The team wished the departing star the best after her decision to reduce her public workload. Ticket sales are still expected to launch following the end of her concert tour in September.
