‘Clueless’ sequel series finds new home at Paramount+

The long-awaited sequel series to the 1995 cult classic Clueless has officially found a new home at Paramount+. After Peacock opted to drop the project earlier this year, production stalled, leaving fans of the iconic Beverly Hills story in the dark. Now, the team behind the original film has moved the production to Paramount+.

Alicia Silverstone returns to the lead role of Cher Horowitz for this six-episode order. The storyline picks up years after the original movie, focusing on Cher as she balances business success and motherhood. The plot kicks in when her teenage daughter creates new challenges that make Cher feel clueless all over again.

Production is currently scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in 2027. The project has already filed for state tax subsidies with the California Film Commission to support the upcoming shoot. Silverstone recently confirmed the news to her followers, marking the end of the uncertainty that surrounded the series following its departure from Peacock in April.

This move represents a return to its origins, as the 1995 film was a Paramount Pictures release. With a firm order in place, the production team looks to move forward with casting and pre-production efforts over the coming year.
