Disney Parks is expanding the Droid Depot experience with a new line of interactive Star Wars toys called Batuu Adventure Buddies. The collection launches on August 13 at the Disneyland Resort, ahead of the D23 event, with plans to bring the toys to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
The first character released in this line is an interactive Ewok. These toys are designed with high-end technology, including LCD eyes and motorized facial expressions. The Ewoks respond to touch, specifically reacting to head pats and belly taps. When multiple toys are nearby, they can communicate with one another through specific sounds and rhythmic movements.
A key feature of these toys is their responsiveness to accessories. Guests can purchase additional gear packs inspired by various Star Wars locations like Endor, Mandalore, and Batuu. These accessories allow the toys to react when placed in their hands. Each purchase includes a special activation moment performed by a cast member at the shop, meant to mimic the in-world creation process attributed to Anzellans.
Disney has not disclosed the price for the individual units, though their existing custom droids currently cost $120. Two additional creatures are planned for the collection and will debut at a later date. This addition offers park guests a way to carry a functional Star Wars companion throughout the immersive areas of the parks.
