‘Other Mommy’ Trailer: Jessica Chastain Returns to Horror as a Body-Twisting Doppelganger
Jessica Chastain is returning to the horror genre with the upcoming release of Other Mommy. The film, produced by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, features Chastain in a dual role as a mother and her sinister doppelganger. The story follows a young girl named Bela who discovers a threatening entity emerging from her closet that mimics her mother.
Universal Pictures shared the first trailer for the movie this week. The footage highlights the growing tension as Bela struggles to distinguish her actual mother from the entity she refers to as Other Mommy. This project serves as a significant addition to Chastain’s horror filmography, which includes past roles in features such as Mama and It: Chapter Two.
Rob Savage directs the film, which adapts the best-selling novel Incidents Around the House. Nathan Elston wrote the screenplay for the production. The cast includes Jay Duplass, Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and Karen Allen.
The production team includes veteran horror producer James Wan. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 9. The trailer premiered during screenings of the new Christopher Nolan film, The Odyssey.
