‘The Odyssey’ Continues Box Office Swath With Mega $18M+ U.S. Wednesday, 2nd Best For Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan’s latest film, The Odyssey, remains a major force at the domestic box office. The movie pulled in over $18 million on Wednesday, marking the second-best Wednesday performance of the director's career. This figure sits right behind his 2008 hit, The Dark Knight, which earned $18.3 million on the same day of the week during its own initial run.

The film’s six-day running total has now reached $181.6 million. This current pace places the movie well ahead of Nolan’s previous project, Oppenheimer, which had earned $117.8 million at the same stage in its 2023 release. Market data indicates that The Odyssey is currently tracking 54 percent ahead of the previous biographical drama.

Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend, industry projections estimate a gross between $61 million and $74 million. The film continues to hold strong across premium large format and Imax screens, which accounted for more than half of its total opening weekend revenue. With no major studio wide releases scheduled to compete for theater space this weekend, The Odyssey maintains a clear path to continue its high-performing run.
