Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs prison release date moved up again, records show
Official federal records show the projected release date for Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been updated once again. Combs is now scheduled for release on January 24, 2028.
This adjustment follows his earlier projected release date of February 23, 2028. The 56-year-old is currently serving a 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, following his conviction on prostitution-related charges. He was moved to this facility in October after previously being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York.
Reports regarding the inmate's status have gained attention amid recent accounts of an altercation within the facility. Following that reported fight, some outlets noted he was placed in solitary confinement. While the Federal Bureau of Prisons manages these adjustments, specific reasons for individual changes in release dates are not always disclosed. Inmate conduct and earned credits remain standard variables that affect these timelines.
Combs was sentenced in October 2025 after federal prosecutors successfully argued that he transported people across state lines for sexual encounters under the Mann Act. While this conviction resulted in his current prison term, the jury acquitted him of separate, more serious charges involving racketeering and sex trafficking. His legal defense team has challenged the application of the Mann Act throughout the proceedings.
