SiriusXM is launching an all-access sports audio subscription

SiriusXM is expanding its platform for sports fans with a new, dedicated subscription tier. The company recently announced the launch of its Sports Pass, which is set to begin on September 1. For a monthly fee of $5, subscribers gain access to live game broadcasts for a wide variety of professional leagues.

The new package aims to centralize live audio coverage for fans of the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL. The offering also extends to racing events including NASCAR, IndyCar, and Formula One, alongside PGA Tour coverage and various soccer matches. Beyond live games, the subscription includes expert commentary, analysis, and local sports station feeds such as ESPN LA 710.

Jennifer Witz, chief executive of SiriusXM, stated that the goal is to simplify the listening experience for sports enthusiasts by gathering games and national personalities in one place. Industry analysts note that this approach serves as a way to increase the time listeners spend on the platform, providing a more consistent service rather than catering to a single interest.

This move comes as SiriusXM continues to refine its business model. The company currently reaches approximately 255 million listeners and maintains 33 million subscribers across its various tiers, which include music-only and broader all-access options. By introducing a focused $5 sports product, the company hopes to capture a broader audience of dedicated listeners who prioritize consistent game coverage.
