‘America’s Got Talent’ Episode 8 recap: Judges pick Pynk Beard, Jesse White Tumbling Team, and 16 more acts to advance to live shows

Season 21 of America's Got Talent has reached a turning point as the judges finalize their roster for the upcoming live quarter-final shows. Following seven weeks of auditions, panelists Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Mel B, and Howie Mandel have transitioned from initial tryouts to selecting which performers earn a spot on the stage for the next phase of the competition.

The selection process relies on two distinct groups. First, the judges identified 18 acts as unanimous choices based on the strength of their initial auditions. This group includes the country band Pynk Beard and the Jesse White Tumbling Team. These performers bypassed further callbacks and secured their positions directly in the quarter-finals.

Beyond these automatic selections, the judges invited 23 additional acts to participate in a series of home-based callbacks. During these sessions, the contestants will perform in front of the judges and special guests. These performances represent the final opportunity for these artists to argue their case for a position in the final lineup of 44 acts.

This current roster already includes the 10 Golden Buzzer winners from the earlier audition phase. These acts are currently guaranteed a place in the live shows, adding to the talent pool that will face audiences in the coming weeks. The judges now focus their attention on evaluating the remaining callback participants to complete the full cast for the televised live events.
