EastEnders is set to expand its cast as the Hawkins family arrives on Albert Square. The show officially confirmed the introduction of five new characters linked to Nicola Mitchell. This group includes her sister Gemma, played by Patricia Potter, and her husband Ned, played by Jamie Bamber. Rounding out the new arrivals are son Ryder, played by Felix Uff, mother Rose, played by Marian McLoughlin, and sister Jodie, played by Anna Constable.
Executive producer Ben Wadey noted that while the family shares a bond, long-standing history and Nicola's estrangement from them have created fractures. The production team expects the Hawkins family to make a significant impact on the show as old conflicts surface. The actors have already begun filming their scenes, with appearances scheduled for later this summer.
