The Crave original series Heated Rivalry is expanding its cast for the upcoming second season. Production confirmed the addition of five new actors to the show, which returns in spring 2027. Emily Hampshire, known for her work on Schitt’s Creek, joins the ensemble alongside Edvin Ryding, Robert Naylor, Sabrina Jalees, and Priyanka.
Robert Naylor has been cast as Wyatt Hayes, a character from Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books that fans of the series have been speculating about for months. Hayes is a prominent figure in the source material, serving as the starting goaltender for the Ottawa Centaurs. This casting confirms a major piece of the puzzle for the adaptation as it moves forward.
The second season of the show will continue to focus on the story of Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. Creators are adapting elements from The Long Game and Role Model. Justice Smith and Charlie Gillespie will also join the cast as Harris Drover and Troy Barrett. The production team includes creator Jacob Tierney, who serves as writer, director, and executive producer.
Fans can expect the new season to air on HBO Max next spring across several international territories. The series continues to draw from the Game Changers book collection to build its narrative arc. This latest expansion of the cast indicates a move to incorporate more characters from the original novels into the televised adaptation as the story deepens.
