MeadowFest returns to Austin on August 29 to combine live music with mental health advocacy. The event takes place at Radio/East, featuring local and national musical acts across two stages from 5 p.m. until midnight.
Founder Greg Goodman established the festival in memory of his daughter, Meadow, who died by suicide in 2023. The project aims to convert personal tragedy into community support by providing direct access to wellness resources and crisis information. Attendees will receive wellness kits containing details on the 988 crisis hotline and information from various mental health organizations.
Singer-songwriter Jon Muq joins the lineup this year, highlighting the personal significance of the cause. Muq intends to use his performance to draw attention to the necessity of mental health awareness, particularly for those who may lack access to resources or traditional support systems.
Organizers intend for the festival to serve as both a celebration and a functional support network. By hosting nonprofit tabling and wellness stations, the event creates space for attendees to connect with organizations while enjoying the music program. The goal is to reduce isolation and provide help to those managing day-to-day challenges.
For those interested in participating, the festival will offer food vendors, drink options, and shaded areas to ensure a comfortable environment for all attendees. Information regarding tickets and the full performance schedule is available through the official festival website.
