A flight from Malaysia to Bangkok recently became the scene of a security incident when a passenger began shouting and attempting to open an aircraft door. The man involved, later identified as a lieutenant in the Royal Thai Army, caused alarm among travelers as he walked the aisle demanding the plane land.
Cabin crew members intervened immediately to manage the situation. They struggled with the man before successfully restraining him in his seat, where he remained until the flight landed at Don Mueang International Airport.
The Thai Defence Ministry confirmed on Monday that the officer had been receiving treatment for a mental health condition. Officials noted that he suffered a relapse during the mid-flight incident. Upon arrival, he was transported to Phramongkutklao Hospital in Bangkok for medical care.
