Goldfish will release its first certified gluten-free cheese crackers this November. The product aims to address long-standing requests from consumers with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities who previously could not consume the snack.

The initiative grew from direct feedback from fans, including a young girl named Brooklyn who wrote to the company about her inability to eat the crackers. The company confirms the new line maintains the signature fish shape, cheddar flavor, and smile found in the original version.

Celiac disease affects roughly 1 in 100 people globally, and the new offering arrives as a direct response to those dietary restrictions. Tiphanie Maronta, senior vice president of Goldfish Crackers, noted that the change intends to allow more families to share snacks during school and home activities without excluding individuals with specific health needs.

Retailers across the United States will carry the 5-ounce packages beginning this November. The suggested retail price for the new snack is set at $4.99. This release marks a significant shift for the brand as it brings a traditionally wheat-based staple into the gluten-free market.
