The company launched a web-based tool that matches plant genetics to specific geographic locations with 10-meter field-level accuracy. This software helps seed companies, nurseries, and breeders determine which crop varieties will perform best in particular fields.
The platform integrates historical weather data, soil models, and satellite imagery to create digital site characteristics. Users combine these inputs with their own proprietary performance data to generate predictive models. By identifying how genetics interact with site-specific conditions, the company claims it can forecast the output of various crops, from corn and soybeans to potatoes and specialty vegetables.
This technology provides a significant shift in how companies approach variety placement. Instead of relying on years of physical trial-and-error in every new region, businesses use the tool as a first-pass filter to narrow their options in minutes. This is particularly useful for global expansion, allowing companies to predict how a variety grown in one part of the world might fare in a different climate without the cost of a full growing season.
