SpaceX successfully launched another batch of 24 Starlink satellites into orbit late Friday. The mission lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 11:08 p.m. EDT.
This launch marks the 89th Falcon 9 flight for SpaceX in 2026. Of those missions, 69 were dedicated to building out the Starlink internet network. The company continues to maintain its position as the largest satellite constellation operator in the world with over 10,800 units in orbit.
The Falcon 9 booster, identified as B1081, completed its 26th mission by landing on the company droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean. This landing occurred approximately 8.5 minutes after liftoff, showing the company's established cadence for reusable hardware.
SpaceX remains active with other vehicle programs as well. Alongside the high volume of Starlink deliveries, the company completed one Falcon Heavy launch and two Starship test flights this year. These efforts serve the broader goal of expanding orbital infrastructure and support for long-term space exploration objectives.
