Wildlife officials in San Dimas successfully captured a mountain lion that wandered into a neighborhood on Friday morning. The big cat was spotted resting in the shade of a tree along Foothill Boulevard, which prompted a swift response from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to ensure public safety.
Authorities quickly cordoned off the area to keep pedestrians and runners at a safe distance while wildlife experts managed the situation. Deputies asked residents to secure their pets and remove any potential food sources from their properties during the operation. No injuries were reported during the encounter.
Video from the scene shows deputies assisting as wildlife teams tranquilized the animal. The mountain lion was then carefully placed into a transport cage for relocation out of the suburban area. The street closure was lifted shortly after the animal was safely moved.
