Women's Scottish Open: Jenny Shin beats A-Lim Kim to title at Dundonald

Jenny Shin captured the Women's Scottish Open title at Dundonald this weekend, finishing at nine under par. Her victory came after a challenging final round where she carded a 75, narrowly holding off a late charge from fellow South Korean A-Lim Kim. Kim finished at seven under following a final round score of 68.

This victory marks a significant milestone for Shin. It is her first professional title in over ten years and only her second win on the LPGA Tour in 368 starts. The conditions at Dundonald were difficult throughout the week, with players facing a mix of sunshine, gusty winds, and heavy rain.

Shin was emotional after securing the win, noting the difference between this result and her maiden title in 2016. She stated that she felt like she earned this victory through hard work. Her performance stood out in a field where only ten players managed to break par over the four days of play.

Other notable competitors struggled to match the leaders. Nelly Korda, who has secured two majors this year, finished tied for 16th at two over par. Meanwhile, Charley Hull ended the tournament at 10 over par. The focus now shifts to the Women's Open, which begins this Thursday at Royal Lytham and St Annes.
